Misha, who over the years has led a raider faction, been a mercenary and a farmer, among other things, is seen here in his raider days.
Depending on who you ask you get different stories as to how a yao guai stood up, started talking and using weapons. One story is that a raider group had a tame yao guai and their women, hopped up on drugs and alcohol, starting "visiting" him, the result of which was Misha when one unexpectedly became pregnant. Another story is that he's a yao guai who ate so many people he became part human himself.
Whatever his origins, a thousand pound bear smart enough to talk and use weapons is a very useful person to have around...provided he's on your side. Because if he's not on your side you'll probably end up in his insides, as did the previous leader of the raider band he took over.
(This picture happened because I was playing FO4 and said 'Boy, I'd like to play a bearman in one of these games'. I can't, so I drew it.)

From the previous yao guai pics I think the 'you are what you eat' seems a bit more likely to happen then the mating.
When it comes to beasts turning normal beasts anthro in fantasy settings I usually blame a bored druid for doing it or a wizard experimenting with creatures. Though most of the time they forget to add a charm spell so the now intelligent beast will not devour them.

In the Fallout setting there's a thing called the Forced Evolutionary Virus which is blamed for many things, among them Super Mutants, giant bugs, huge mole rats...and, a lot of people think, Yao Guai. Both of the story scenarios are well within the bounds of Fallout lore. If a virus can make albatross-sized mosquitoes able to fly then a yao guai could bone a woman and get her pregnant.
It's so funny because I was watching a Fallout 1 playthrough and they talked about cut content in parts. Originally there was supposed to be a society of intelligent raccoons that resulted from non-irradiated test animals infected with FEV escaping the West-Tec facility. They dropped the idea because, among other reasons, they put in the lore about FEV causing sterility. Frankly, I would have loved to have had that as an option. Sci-Fi is too grim when it takes itself too seriously. They have ghouls and super mutants with intelligence. Give us the equivalent of Argonians and Khajiit. Maybe Misha ate a super mutant, or lapped up one of their dipping vats, and became this.
I was at a furry BBQ today and had plenty of time to touch this one up (I started it yesterday). This is the most complicated pencil piece I've done in a long time, most of my recent simpler ones only take about three hours including touching them up in Photoshop so I can do one after work if I'm in the mood. But yes, I am not sure I've ever been this productive. I'm taking advantage of my inspiration while it lasts. 83
Something that was left out from the original fallout was a race of sapient, immortal raccoons, I can't remember the name off the top of my head, slither, or slifter or something like that. But they were supposed to be lab animals from West-Tek that were enhanced with the FEV. But due to later writing developments, them beign an entire race contradicted the sterility of FEV mutants, and the devs thought it was too silly even for fallout. So it was cut ultimately.
It basically would have destroyed the main antagonist from 1 being wrong (and one way you can end the game). If you haven't played one, a mutant by the name of "The Master" is making people into super mutants because he believes they are superior, if you have the right amount of science skill and do the right detective work, you can find out anything enhanced by FEV is rendered sterile. Presenting this evidence to the master in full shows him his plans are doomed. After this he goes into a spiral of remorse for everything he did, because he truely believed he was giving humanity salvation, then obliterates himself along with many of his creations.
If you had a race of reproducing FEV raccoons, you'd need to remove that path, and if the super mutants can reproduce, it means the master is effectively right, ha. That or you'd need to have only a small few of them, but that would hardly make up a race. In 2, there are also fully sapient deathclaws too, and that is 100% canon.

I'm referring to things that are FEV dipped or get a shower/injection. Technically everything in all shown parts of the continental US has been exposed to FEV from WEt-Tek in small doses, when the lab got hit, FEV was aerosolized and spread in the jet stream. But it's the thigns liek super mutants and ghouls, who got realyl big doses and have the 'benefits' in full that are rendered sterile. The raccoons were supposed to have been injected, which would make them sterile according to the lore, which makes things mutually exclusive with what was stated abut FEV all across FO1.
Ghouls, super mutants, centaurs and a few other specific FEV mutants are sterile. But Yao Guai, Brahmin, Deathclaws, normal wasteland humans, etc are not. (It's kind of arbitrary, but I didn't exactly write it. :P)

do u mean the slanter/burrokin yeah that would be nice but todd howard fucked up the lore and series fallout 4 looks disgusting in all the ways not to mention the betrayal of the fans by making the brotherhood quasi evil and killing off screen three dog and sarah lyons also the engine is laughed at by any reasonable game developer on how not to make a game engine and it docent support vehicles fuck todd howard he's a liar and basically young skinny ginger trump
I'm VERY fond of him! Also fond of Bears... and the name Misha. I got a direbear named Misha Molotov, former russian soldier, abducted by aliens, world ended, ended up slowly turning into a fantasy medieval thing like Shannara Chronicles... Though Misha doesn't seem to age and it's been 600 years.
Always a fan of the sentience through eating many humans concept :3
In such a scenario, wonder how it's like for his fellow bandit minions, if they knew their boss came to be like that.
Maybe once in the past he was just a beast they fed hapless travelers to, now they take orders from him.

He's already very tough and immune to radiation. Heavy metal armor like he's wearing here on top of that makes him as tough as the average power armor. Plus he has a huge health pool. Since he usually melees he just needs some friends to shoot the people he drives out of cover. Shooting HIM instead too many times gets you a nice bearskin coat to wear for an evening if it's during his raider days. 83
There were going to be raccoon people in FO1, but they were taken out as not matching the game’s grim themes. All that is left is one terminal entry in a lab.
