This image comes directly from a story I wrote which I have yet to publish on here (Along with about 9 others.....). Set in an alternative version of Earth's history where a protracted second world war saw Japan turn against an increasingly more powerful Germany. This particular battle takes place not far from an area in the Phillipine sea, around the Batanes between the vessels IJN Raimei (The Yamato class with a modified secondary battery) under the command of Kaigun-Daisa Ryofu Matsumoto, and the Manneim (Bismarck Class) under the command of Kapitän zur See Johannes Wentzel.

Hence why I said "Tended to be named after people not places". A few off the top of my head being the Scharnhorst, Prinz Eugen, Graf Spee, Bismarck, Tirpitz, Gneisenau, Prince Eitel Friedrich, Hindenberg, and Yorck which is why I went with a name, not a place. In one of my books I read an article that one battleship (They wanted to call it the Deutchland) was requested to be renamed by Hitler himself. I can't find the book it was in (I suspect it was the Bismarck's, but will look later)
Well, first of all I'm not the author of this piece. If I could draw to this standard I'd be in a completely different job! ;)
Expect to see the content in my gallery change over time, my original plan was to get all of the pinup ideas and nudity things out of my head before shifting to the more story themed aspect of my characters.
