Suppose there was a musical called "Julie Bunny Must Die". (Still hypothetical, at least for the moment and for the purposes of this post.)
Suppose this was the second song, more or less... with maybe some smoother, less self-conscious lyrics and a real actress singing Julie's part.
Are you inclined to stick around to see who attempts to kill Julie?

I'm trying to understand, are you hitting those high notes in falsetto or are you a superhero?
Crazy good of course, I have a really hard time writing narrative lyrics and man, you seem to knock it out of the park each time!
I mean, you got the rhymes the melody, the bouncy keyboard, *sigh

Haha, I can see this in film format. XD
Like, animated character, singing this song, dancing around and between comic book panels - specifically imagining grabbing the border between two panels, and swinging around it like a pole, broadway style not poledance style (think "Singin' in the Rain") - and the artist in the shot strictly as a hand holding a pencil. :p (Which at times draws in props or costumes, but isn't as "pushy" as say, that one Daffy short where he's arguing with the artist.)
Sorta like these animated Rolo ads:

Something like this - http://www.furaffinity.net/view/4175548/ (but without the fake-cel effect meant to make a non-animated image look animated.)
It's a cliche at this point, but, <3 <3 <3 <3 <3.
Oddly enough, because of how the show ends (and I won't yet reveal that here), Julie works slightly better as a human actress than an actual cartoon, and that was by design. I wasn't able to make a film, but I did have the opportunity to do a stage show, so I went with the strengths of the medium. If the opportunity to do a film ever presents itself, the end may need to be tweaked for maximum impact.
Now that Julie exists, I can finally allow myself to watch "Cool World", which I have been deliberately avoiding. The genre of "cartoon characters come to life" isn't exactly fresh or innovative, so I wanted to do everything I could not to retread previous paths.
