This is a pretty old sketch now, like right before the point where I just disappeared from almost everywhere for about 5 months.
This is a newer character, Forrest, from a small game I was making called "Hey There!". He's this overly cheery, very shy dragon who just aspires to work with games and be a music composer/producer.
So, about the time I finally got around to finishing stuff with LOSS-LESS, I wanted to make a very short game just to test some stuff out.
So it was gonna be just a game about this introverted dragon Forrest, and an app on his phone called "Hey There!". The whole shtick was "Hey There!" didn't allow you to create your own first message, instead you had to send a "hey there" message to start a conversation. He joined the app pretty much to make friends, since he has a tough time meeting new people. However, you'd be the other person who'd send the message to Forrest to start the conversation.
So the original plan was just to have a few short parts that read out like a text conversation between these two characters. And the story would have been very short too, with time passing between these parts. The point was to set up how the two's friendship progressed just by texts. Over time, I began deciding to make a few more parts, just to flesh out those in-between parts more. I felt I couldn't really progress their friendship off screen and still make it work.
But, since it also came where I really started losing all my motivation to really do anything, all I ever really got done was the original plan, and one small section of the extended plan. I probably could have it done or almost done if I could have kept it going, but eh, I couldn't really do anything at the time. I got burnt out really quick with the project.
I still wanna make something out of it, so I may just embellish that original idea and make it a bit better. I dunno, still don't have all my motivation back, and I've been in a huge creative slump in regards to music. Nothing I try really gets far enough to put in a game. I dunno, we'll see.
