It made me sad when car companies started putting rubber tips on what were once all-chrome Dagmars. Even so, this 1959 Chevrolet El Camino still has plenty of gorgeous chrome to go around.

You know, I'd have never guessed that those were rubber. Were they put in purely for the sake of aesthetic and/or cost-cutting measures?

Still, as you say, plenty remains to go around! Thank you for sharing! :)

I couldn't really say why. I don't think it was because the black rubber looked good. Maybe it was just to provide some cushioning in case of a collision.

We'd made them for years in Australia :)
Car based utes, usually were more comfy, had car based safety systems, and some were pretty fast :3
