This is Chaos after having been put through the washer. Why did he end up in the washing machine? Spinning around and around and around and around?
You'll have to read to find out :P
Agony of the Adorable
Moonlight trickled peacefully into the room, bathing the foreign objects and alien items in a soft shimmering glow. Outside, crickets chirped and played a midnight symphony of sweet squeaks and lonely chimes that echoed in sync with the nightingales and bats that mixed their melodies. And absolutely none of it mattered to the little coyote, who sat quietly with his paws cupped behind his skull and one lazy foot draped across an upturned knee. He aimlessly examined the bars of his cage, noting that he had absolutely no chance of breaking them, and wondered how he'd gotten into this mess in the first place...trapped...helpless...alone...
It had been a relatively awful day for Chaos. First, he ended up chased around the city by Johnny and his gang and missed the bus to Acme Loo, got to his first class with only ten minutes left and discovered he'd lost his homework while avoiding Johnny and his friends, and cracked his goggles in "Props 101" when he got hit in the head by a mallet wielded by a pink rabbit. After THAT he missed lunch, taking a wrong turn in the halls and ended in the senior's wing, and then had detention for missing another class. Still, it would have been just a typical bad day...had he not decided to sit down on the front steps of the school and feel sorry for himself. He missed the bus due to detention, and just had to take a breather. Just a minute to collect himself before that long walk back to the city, that's all he wanted.
"What a cutie cute puppy-head!" Squealed a female voice behind him. Chaos shifted quietly where he sat and turned to look at a little red headed girl standing over him, grinning wildly with a bright pink pair of hearts for eyes. Was she looking at him?
"...Uhhhh...do I know Y-ACK!!" Chaos shrieked as the girl quickly wrapped her arms around his body and squeezed as tightly as she could, producing several pops, clicks, and cracks from the coyote's spine.
"HURK!!! LEGGO YOU MANIAC!" The boy whined, but the girl paid him no heed, twirling his limp body around her before giving him another bone crushing hug.
"A little homeless puppy to call my very own! I'm gonna name you George! And I'm gonna hug you and squeeze you and love you allll to pieces! Come on George! I've always wanted a dog! The last one I had got all microwaved!" The girl squealed happily, grasping Chaos by his tail and skipped along, bashing him against the ground with every step.
"I'M-OOF- NOT, -ULK- A- HURK- DOG!" The puppy cried out helplessly, stars dizzily twirling about his skull as the red headed girl giggled.
"Of course you are silly puppy-head! I'm gonna take you home with me forever and ever, and I'm gonna love you to death!!" The girl shrieked, giggling into his ear. Chaos whined quietly and squirmed in her embrace, trying to wriggle himself away.
"That's what worries me. Are you aware you're made completely out lose and fail? Leggo! I've got homework to do and road runners to chase!" Choas whimpered, but his pleas scraped deaf ears. Holding the boy's tail in a death grip that didn't waver in the slightest and bouncing him across the concrete with every step, the girl made good time towards a quaint little house on the outskirts of Acme Acres.
"Here we are George! Home at last!" Elmyra beamed happily holding up a badly bruised and dizzy Chaos.
"I...Can't remember how to spell my name..." Chaos wept quietly, reaching his paws up to hold his head and try to shake the twirling stars away. It did him little good, however, for it only took seconds for Elmyra to give a girlish giggle and drag him helplessly into the kitchen. She strapped the hapless canine into a booster seat and kissed the end of his nose sweetly.
"It's time for din-din Georgey! We're gonna have pie! My specialty! Dehehehe!" The girl announced proudly skipping towards the refrigerator.
"Hoooookey! We, we obviously got off on the wrong foot. I, I'm not a pet, I'm-" Chaos began- but gave a sharp squeak when the girl suddenly stuffed a spoon full of...something into his muzzle.
"Nummy nummy, eat em alllllll up!" Elmyra giggled brightly. Chaos gave a whimper and let his tongue roll out, a fine layer of mud and caked earth carpeted the pink muscle, and an earthworm wriggle it's head free to see what had disrupted it's home. Mud pie. Somehow, it fit. Before Chaos had time to spit it out, however, Elmyra stuffed another rancid spoon full of green earth into the puppy's muzzle.
"OM NOM NOM George!" The girl giggled, before yanking him from the high chair by his ears and dragged him into the laundry room.
"Alright Puppy head! It's time for a niiiiice bath. " The red head squealed. Chaos just stared at her. She HAD to be joking. There was no way she was going to...
Elmyra stuffed the coyote into the washing machine.
"OOOoooooo Puppy goes round and round and round!" The girl squeaked, watching Chaos wildly twirl about inside the contraption. Some odd, ten minutes later, Elmyra cracked the Washing Machine's door open and Chaos tumbled out with a squeak. He immediately stood up, and took a few wet, wobbling steps forward, trying to make for the door, but there was no escape. He stumbled forward, then back, then forward again, trying to keep his balance while at the same time, attempting to hold onto his lunch.
To his misfortune, however, Elmyra grabbed the pup by his ears and yanked him into her arms giving him a crushing squeeze, dragging him into her bedroom.
"Alright Georgey! Now that we're allll clean, it's time for beddy-byes! " Elmyra explained, while Chaos struggled to make sense of what was going on. His head was still loopy from the major spin cycle he'd just taken, but part of him was aware enough to realize he was in serious trouble. The girl was absolutely mad...
"L..lemme go...I wanna go home..."He sniffled, but Elmyra either didn't hear him, or didn't care. She tossed him haphazardly into an open cage sitting in the corner of her room, and slammed the door shut.
"G'night George! Sleep tight!" She mewed warmly, before the lights flickered out...and Chaos was left alone. For hours he waited. Waited patiently...quietly, sniffling soft, silent tears for someone to come and find him. Someone to rescue him. Take him home where he wanted to go...but no one showed up. He'd been forgotten.
"Wanna go home..."Chaos squeaked quietly, pawing at the door to his cage. The bars didn't budge an inch, leaving the poor puppy lapsed in despair. He sat up, sniffling quietly and rubbed his eyes with the back of a paw, but the tears wouldn't stop. All he wanted was for the miserable day to do was wake up from the nightmare that plagued him, but he didn't have a chance. He was stuck tight, and there wasn't anything he could do about it. With bleary eyes and sniffling sobs, he didn't even notice the shadow that shivered by the window, leaving only the sound of a fly's footfall in it's wake. He did, however, notice when that shame shadow dropped down in a harness in front of his cage, wearing a bright glowing green pair of night vision goggles and holding a blow torch.
"Wha...What?" Chaos squeaked softly, eyes widening as the midnight cloaked figure easily tore a hole through the cold steel and grasped him by the scruff of his neck, before yanking him up and out. Everything that happened next was a blur, but soon Chaos was immersed in fresh air and the dark beauty of the night. Standing in front of him was the shadow- the one that rescued him- the one that pulled off his mask, revealing a bright red nose, brown eyes and grey chopped ears.
"CALAMITY!!" Chaos squealed, pouncing his older brother in a crushing squeeze of a hug, his tail wagging wildly behind him. Calamity smiled warmly and hugged in return, before holding his brother by the shoulders and looking him, over, as if to make sure nothing was broken or out of place. Chaos sniffled quietly and rubbed his nose.
"I th...I thought you guys forgot about me." The puppy sniffed. Calamity balked, snarled, and reached up and bopped his brother on the head with a firm WHAP! Chaos yelped, and reached up, holding his new lump, but didn't argue. Calamity was giving him a disappointed frown. Of course they wouldn't forget...
"C...Can we go home now...please?" The boy begged, but Calamity shook his head, crossing his arms slowly, much to Chaos' dismay and confusion.
"W...why not? What else is there for us to get here?" He asked quietly. Calamity frowned and glanced towards Elmyra's house and held up a signpost that read one single, solitary delicious word.
