Wisp, tharkis's feline spirit familiar, lives inside the nekonomicon.
Tharkis may be a nekomancer, but she's still a magical klutz, and in order to pay the bills, she cant depend upon her employment as a witch. Instead she serves as a maid. Wisp looks a little upset at the lack of attention and studying and is making it very hard for Tharkis to attend to her maid duties !
