Here is a collection of Lupine males, wearing a mish mash of armor types. The leader in the center is wearing an antique set of Lorica Segmentata in steel, while the two he is addressing, are wearing bronze chest protectors, and lapped bronze scales down the front, and bronze greaves. The one in the back is wearing a square sheet of bronze over his chest, and a spear. You use what you have. Pencil on cardstock, R U G G E L S / 2 0 0 7.

Mhhh considering that most germanic and celtic tribal Warriors only had padded linen clothing and wooden shields for protection, are these Lupines rather well equipped. Tho I feel like there are an awfull lot of swords spread among them. I am missing Axes and Javelins a little. ^^
which reminds me of the moivie "Seven Samurai" by Akira Kurosawa. of a certain scene where the samurai are upset the peasants actually have a collection of soldiers' and even samurai's weapons and armoury stashed away... all picked up on the various battlefields over the hills.
I recall reading how in real life there was a Japanese word specifically used to describe that sort of thing, I.e. peasants slaying or just preying on samurai: gekokujo, literally 'the low overcoming the high'.
There's also a really bizarre B&W Japanese horror film titled Onibaba whose plot revolves around two peasant women who do just that.

Interesting - the Lupine with the lorica is actually the best protected, although the armour would be difficult to maintain. It's been found that solid bronze actually offers less protection than a stiff linothorax, the metal is just too soft. It works much better as scale armour.
Aye. There's also evidence from carvings that they may used some kind of flexible natural armour too, possibly leather or quilted cloth.

The last one is my favourite - apparently they probably adopted it after contact with the Etruscans, who had significant Greek influence.
