The sun had set in the suburbs, marking the beginning of Halloween night. Out in the streets, many were walking around, dressed up as spooky monsters or pop culture icons in an attempt to earn some candy from anyone not up to braving the autumn chill.
But Scarlet was not one of those people. The red fox girl was out on the sidewalk, dressed in a purple gown, pointy hat and red neckerchief. She was surprised when she found the gown to be quite loose and baggy on her, given she wasn’t exactly a thin fox.
She sported quite the healthy appetite and Halloween wasn’t the only time she enjoyed candy, and it didn’t help that her short stature made her look like a rather round little butterball. Even with her friend and roommate May’s coaching her diet and exercise, the effort only really seemed to keep her in a steady state of ‘short and stout’.
Scarlet wished May would be able to join her, but she had chosen to stay behind to hand out candy to other trick-or-treaters. “You don’t count,” she’d told Scarlet when she knocked on the door the moment she walked out.
So the fat little fox had decided she would simply share her candy with her when she got back home. She wanted to have most of it, given her sweet tooth, but she knew May would make sure it would be an even split.
When she got to the end of the street in the wealthier neighbourhood, she rattled her large jack-o-lantern bucket. The candy inside was nearing the rim.
She was a little let down that the candies she was getting from this street ranged from ‘good’ to ‘mediocre’, but she supposed quantity was better than quality in this case.
Wow, an even bigger haul than last year! She thought, her chubby cheeks squishing from her wide, proud smile. May’s gonna be so impressed!
And then something in the distance caught her eye.
Just outside of the suburbs was a wide, deep forest that some said went on for miles. She’d never been in there on her own, especially not after dark, from fears of getting lost inside it. Lost and hungry.
But what was causing that little plume of smoke? It wasn’t big or dark enough to be a forest fire, and yet it seemed to be coming from inside the woods. Did someone live in there maybe?
She walked toward the edge of the forest, belly wobbling and butt swaying, her ears pricked up with curiosity. The smoke didn’t seem to be too deep in, so maybe she could investigate? It could be coming from another house, which meant even more candy.
One more house won’t hurt, she decided with a greedy smirk, and giggled before venturing into the trees.
Scarlet quickly found herself starting to regret her decision. The potential house seemed to be deeper into the forest than she thought, and the dense pine trees had blocked out the night sky. And despite her extra layers of padding, the occasional cold breeze made her blubbery body ripple from her shivering.
She started to think she’d made a big mistake. She looked all around her, but saw no sign of the neighbourhood, or any civilisation. She was deep inside now, and had no way to tell where she was going.
And what was worse, her large stomach had already begun grumbling impatiently. She moaned and clutched her middle with her free paw, ears drooping with despair.
That was, until she smelled something.
She lifted her ears and nose, snuffling the air. The warm, enticing aroma of fresh baking and sugary sweet frosting tickled her senses, and a wide smile caused her cheeks to squint her eyes.
She knew there was a house out here! Where else would such a delicious smell come from?
That smells so good, she purred in her head. I bet they have a lot of great candy!
Her confidence rekindled, she picked up the pace and followed after the smell. Despite being quite a heavy little fox, she was always a fast runner.
She didn’t have long to run, which she was thankful for because she needed to catch her breath. She stopped in a wide clearing in the trees, taking a few moments to huff and puff, doubled over with her paws on her knees. Once she recovered, she saw it.
In the middle of the clearing was a quaint, cosy-looking cottage, complete with a thatch roof. Smoke flowed from the chimney, which answered one mystery for Scarlet. The lights were on inside, and the sweet smell was much stronger.
That settled it. This was the place!
With an eager grin, she approached the door and gave it a loud but polite knock.
“Trick or treat!” she yelled, shaking her bucket.
No answer. She tilted her head.
“Hello?” she called, then halted her next knock when she saw the door was ajar. Had she done that? She hadn’t noticed the door being open before.
An urge made itself known inside her. An urge to look inside. Just a little peek. She at least should see what was making that delicious smell just inside, right?
She licked her lips and put her pawpads on the door, pushing it ever so gently. She poked her head inside and looked around.
Inside the house seemed to be what she expected. Wooden furniture, shelves of photos and nick-nacks, a large table covered in treats, a comfy armchair by the fire-
Her head snapped back to face the table. Cakes, pies, cookies, puddings, and all other kinds of delicious desserts she could think of were causing the table to nearly bend!
The next thing Scarlet knew, she was standing right at the table, looming over the plethora of treats and licking her lips.
So much to grab. So much to eat. Far too much to take altogether. Maybe she’d just have a little snack. A cupcake, maybe a brownie, a cookie or two, maybe some ice cream…
But where to start? It all looked delicious! Her tubby tummy growled louder, urging her to hurry up.
Her first target was a large platter of Oreo cookies. One of her most favourite treats. One went in her mouth, then two, then five.
Before she knew it, her fat little fingers were tapping the empty plate. She let out a little burp and set it back down, licking the crumbs off her lips.
“Aahh, okay, now to go h- ooh, are those donuts?” she squeaked, and pulled the large platter of plump donuts and started scarfing them down. Sprinkles and frosting got all over her paws and mouth, and the more she ate, the more she wanted to eat. Her gluttony was increasing like the size of her belly.
“Looks like you decided on ‘treat’,” a woman said behind her.
Scarlet snapped out of her sugar-fuelled trance, her mouth full of chocolate cake. She gulped and turned around, squeaking as she saw a tall, black cat woman looming over her. She was plump, with a generously sized chest, and was clad in a blue robe and pointed hat, similar to Scarlet’s purple ones. Her long, lavender hair hung down over her back. Her eyebrow was raised, like she was expecting an explanation.
“O-oh, I’m sorry!” Scarlet whimpered, tears welling up in her eyes out of panic. “I-I knocked but no one answered and I saw all these treats and… o-oh gosh…!”
The cat chuckled and put a paw on the fox’s head, gently petting her ginger hair. “Oh hush now, I’m not angry with you. In fact, I’m happy you love my baking so much that you’d sneak in just to have some.”
Her voice was gentle, almost motherly. Scarlet’s sobs quietened into little sniffles.
“Y-you’re not mad at me?” she muttered. “But, I broke in and pigged out. You were probably planning a party or something with all that food…”
“Oh not at all,” the cat assured her. “I just love to bake, and I just left these out for any trick-or-treaters to come along. Like you did.” She added, giving the fox’s tummy a gentle pat, making its owner blush.
“B-but, there’s so much. And how do you expect someone to find you when you live so deep in the woods?”
“Well, you found me, didn’t you?” the cat pointed out with a mischievous wink.
Scarlet had to take a moment to argue that logic. “O-only because I got so greedy… you see, my friend had to stay home to hand out candy for trick or treaters, and she let me go because she knows how much I love Halloween.” She hid her chubby face in her paws.
The cat smiled warmly and gave Scarlet’s head another loving pat.
“I’m glad to see someone loves Halloween as much as I do.”
"Y-yeah, it's pretty fun. I get to dress up and eat tons of candy without worry.” Scarlet glanced aside. “P-people often mistake me for being younger than I actually am, too…”
“I think you look adorable,” the cat said, rubbing Scarlet’s double chin with a single claw. “Your witch costume is so precious!”
“R-really?” Scarlet looked up at her, managing to grin. Her nerves were starting to calm, feeling more relaxed by this lady’s sheer presence. “Thanks! I made it myself.”
“Did you now?” asked the cat, impressed. “Well, aren’t you the little seamstress? It almost looks like the real thing. Like mine.”
Scarlet looked up at her, her own eyebrow raised. “But, magic isn’t real, right? I mean, I wish it was, but…”
“Only because you haven’t seen it for real.”
Scarlet blinked, curious but sceptical. “Show me?”
The cat smirked and stood up straight. She held out her palm, and with a little flash of light, Scarlet’s eyes widened, mouth agape. Did that really just happen?
“Wh-what the-?” she gasped, and rubbed her eyes. “D-do it again! I blinked!”
The cat giggled and lifted her other paw, snapping her fingers. A second donut appeared on top of the first.
Scarlet stared at the treats, mouth starting to water. She reached for them, but the cat saved her the trouble by shoving them right into her open mouth. She halted in surprise, then a pleasurable moan escaped her as she slowly chewed and swallowed.
“There we go,” the witch purred softly, petting Scarlet on the head. “I’m sure you’d like some more, hm?”
Scarlet’s eyelids lowered, a wide comfy smile on her face. “Mmhmm…”
“Come along then,” she said, and gently ushered the greedy fox toward the living room, where some comfy seats awaited. “Get yourself nice and comfortable, your feet must be sore after that long walk from town.”
“Oh yeah,” Scarlet said, and the cat helped her get snuggled in on the couch. “You’re being so nice to me. How come?”
The witch smiled and gave Scarlet’s white-furred belly a little poke, making her giggle. “Because I love to see an adorable little thing enjoy her food, of course.”
Scarlet let out a little happy moan and wiggled her big backside into the seat to get even comfier. She was so relaxed and so ready to enjoy some more treats that she couldn’t think of much else.
Even though she had a niggling feeling in the back of her head, like there was something she had to do? Somewhere she had to go? It was all just so fuzzy, and she honestly just didn’t feel like trying to figure it out at the moment.
The feeling was replaced with one of excitement when she opened her eyes, seeing a huge chocolate and fudge cake sitting on a plate on top of her belly.
“O-oh my,” she gasped, licking her lips. “For me?”
The cat witch nodded. “Every last crumb, dear.”
Scarlet squeaked with joy and grabbed big moist globs of the dessert with her very paws, cramming them into her mouth. She didn’t even realise she wasn’t given any utensils to eat with, she was just too hungry.
After what felt like minutes, Scarlet was licking the plate clean of any cake crumbs, and she let out a satisfied little burp. She hadn’t noticed that her gown now felt the littlest bit tighter.
“Looks like you enjoyed that,” the witch purred.
“Oh I did,” the fat fox sighed, then looked up to her with a desperation in her eyes. “Could… could I please have some more?”
“Of course you can,” the witch said with a smile, and with a click of her fingers, a brand new cake appeared on the plate.
“Oh goodie,” giggled Scarlet, and she restarted scoffing up the huge dessert. She ate a little faster this time, like her life depended on it. She was just so hungry!
So good, she thought as she stuffed more pawfuls of chocolate, fudge and batter into her messy muzzle. So yummy, I just can’t stop! Need more! So hungry!
Almost like she read her mind, the witch refilled the empty plate when Scarlet was finished lapping up more crumbs. This time, a baker’s dozen of plump, creamy donuts sat in a neat pyramid.
“Ooh, don’t mind if I do,” the fat fox giggled, and popped donut after donut into her mouth, chewing and chomping with glee.
Once she had finished with them, she licked her paws and wiped them on her belly. She barely registered that it felt even fatter and softer, and it was getting rather tight inside her robe.
The appearance of a huge chocolate pie in front of her silenced that thought.
“Oh, it looks so yummy,” she said, “and so big. I don’t know if I can finish it, but…”
Regardless of her doubts, she dug her paws into the warm batter and crammed it into her waiting mouth. She didn’t care how impolite she was acting; there was too much food for her to think of much else. Not even the ominous creaking of her robe went noticed.
Her next burp was followed by a loud ripping and popping of stitches and seams, as the purple felt finally came apart, no longer able to hold the ballooning fox. The cat witch’s eyes widened slightly as she looked over Scarlet.
The fox had practically inflated with blubber, her belly being a white-furred apron covering some of her thunderous thighs. Her wrists and ankles were covered with folds of adipose sagging over them, and her already prominent double chin had surpassed her real one, beneath her almost jowl-like cheeks.
Her clothes had been reduced to nothing but an ill-fitting white vest, just barely acting as a bra, and her boxer panties looking ready to meet the same fate as the robe. As much of the panties as the cat could see, anyway.
Scarlet let out another soft moan when she felt the cat’s paws glide across her enormous middle, fingers indenting ever so slightly.
“You’re so good to me,” she sighed, “miss…?”
“Oh, where are my manners?” the cat chuckled. “Call me Willow, dear.”
“I’m Scarlet. I’m sorry for stealing from you.”
“Oh hush now,” Willow purred, and stack of fudge brownies popped up on a plate in front of Scarlet, which she immediately began gobbling up. “Honestly, no harm done.”
The fox giggled and chewed up more and more brownies, punctuating the end of her binge with one more belch.
CRUNCH!!
The next thing Scarlet knew, she was looking up at the ceiling. Her belly was wobbling violently, like it had been disturbed from its comfy rest. She slowly turned her head, seeing cushions and broken pieces of wood. Like it all used to be a couch once. The couch she was on before.
She barely felt the fall. She smiled peacefully. The fall didn’t matter. She was full of chocolate and sugar. She was peaceful.
Then she heard a song. A familiar song. One that sounded like her phone ringing. She looked to her side and saw her phone on the couch cushion, the screen lit up.
She blinked. Was May calling her?
She lazily pawed at her phone and checked. Sure enough, May was calling.
“Hello?” she answered, stifling another burp.
“Oh thank goodness,” May’s voice sighed from the other end. “Where are you? It’s really late and I got worried.”
“Oh, I was just in the woods, having some candy,” Scarlet giggled. “I’ll come home now.”
“I hope so,” May said. “What’re you doing in the woods anyway?”
“Um,” the fox muttered, glancing at Willow for a moment. “I’ll tell you when I get home. Oh, and uh… I seem to have misplaced my costume.” She blushed.
“How did you-?” May tried, and Scarlet could almost see her shaking her head. “Nevermind, just come home soon, okay?”
“I will,” she promised. “Love you.”
She hung up, and grunted and squeaked as she struggled into a sitting position. She looked over herself. She was so huge. She’d be lucky if she could even walk, let alone make it through the door.
Tears began to well up in her eyes once again. May always worked hard to make sure Scarlet was at a healthy - or, well, relatively healthy weight, and now she had eaten herself into a proper blob!
Willow knelt down in front of Scarlet and gave her titanic tummy a soft rub. “Oh hush now. After all, who doesn’t plump up a little after some Halloween treats?”
Scarlet sniffled, already starting to relax from the attention. “Y-yeah, I guess so. Thank you for not hexing me or anything. Your food is so delicious!”
“It was my pleasure, sweetie,” the witch purred, and she used her magic to help Scarlet stand back on her fat little feet. She felt the fatter fox’s body squish against hers as the two hugged.
“Will I be able to see you again?” asked Scarlet, standing just outside Willow’s cottage after the witch helped her squeeze her wide frame out the door. “Ooh, maybe you could come visit sometime too? May would love to meet you!”
“Both sound delightful,” Willow purred, and gave Scarlet a little scritch behind her ear. “You can visit me anytime you like. I’d love the company.”
Scarlet giggled and looked down at herself. She was an absolute state, with her massive belly and backside hanging almost to the ground, her arms and legs covered in thick folds, her flabby cheeks and chins taking over most of her face, and her mouth and paws covered in dried chocolate. Not to mention her underwear was just barely managing not to burst off.
But besides all that, she was happy. She got to have the biggest Halloween feast of her life, and she met a really nice witch who could do real magic. She was sure people would just wave off her near nudity as a silly costume anyway. Plus, she had a bucket full of candy in her fat fist, ready to be eaten as soon as she got home.
“Thank you so much,” Scarlet giggled, and slowly turned herself to waddle off, her belly bouncing against her toes. Despite the pure blackness in the forest before, this time she could see street lights through the trees much easier. “Happy Halloween!”
“Oh, one more thing,” Willow called.
Scarlet halted, looking over her thick shoulder. She squeaked with delight as a bucket of candy, just as big as her own, floated toward her free paw.
“You did say ‘trick or treat’, after all~”

[hr]“Will I be able to see you again?” asked Scarlet, standing just outside Willow’s cottage after the witch helped her squeeze her wide frame out the door.
