Happy halloween everyone! I have to work all day so its not really anything special for me haha but I hope everyone enjoys it!
This ones my Alex & her father Ronny (owned by my favorite person MrBoodle ofc)
Its actually an illustration to go with a short story I wrote the other day!
*Note that both stories are written with the characters as HUMANS, as they are canonically humans. I just chose to draw them anthro for this one cause its a funner/more cartoony style I can do a lot faster.
This is the prior story that explains a little more about whats going on, but isn't exactly precise to this exact picture so I won't put it here
Alex stood outside her father's workshop sucking her thumb- a bad habit. She was a small toddler, barely old enough to walk, Myra had told her not to go too far, not that she had too much worry anyway- she was nearby, sitting on the front steps of their home as she read to Alex's twin sister, Sam. She had her ear pointed in the direction of her other toddler, ready to chase after her if she got too far away for her liking. Alex knew she wasn't supposed to go in her father's workshop- there were too many tools...wood chips.. metal. It was dangerous for such a small child! But she was a bit tempted to anyway. Her daddy was in there! she loved her dad! But she was also a good girl. She didn't break rules, right? Mommy would be mad if she did.
She stared at her father where he sat working on something at his desk, oblivious to his daughter's gaze for a few minutes until he felt the eyes on him and looked over his shoulder. Chuckling a little to see his little girl there. "Alex...what are you doing here? Where's your mother?" He stood and walked over to her, peeking his head out the door to look over at his wife with their other daughter- but she already had her eyes locked on him as soon as she heard his heavy footsteps walking towards their daughter. Writing it off promptly as just her husband she went back to reading the little picture book to Sam, content Ronny could keep their other child out of harms way. He looked back down to Alex, who held up one hand in a grabbing motion. He smiled and leaned to pick her up "Hey baby girl, how are you today?" he asked her as he held the small child in one arm and walked back to his desk, sitting down he set her on one knee. She smiled up to him, reaching to hug him
"Awa don' okaa. Mama weadin' again an it bowing" she said with a little pout. Ronny couldn't help but smile at her rough attempt at speaking. She was far too young to have mastered it yet. "Aw, you don't like reading?" he asked her. She shook her head vigorously. Turning in his lap to stare at his drawing a moment before she made a grabby motion at his pencil. He knew what that meant... He rolled his eyes a little in bemusement as he flipped over the page on his notebook, handing his daughter a pencil he let her scribble all over it. More than a few of his pages were like this... he'd quickly learned it was a lot better to give her blank pages than scrawl all over his sketches- which she would gladly do if given the option.
She was still to young to even attempt making a picture, but he still found her scribbles to be cute anyway. Despite his worries over having more kids, his two little girls had surprised him. Well, firstly because there were two. Not to mention Myra's pregnancy being the least painful of the bunch. Usually she'd been cranky and moody, but this time she'd only been cheery about it. Kapono insisted it was likely due to the lack of stress or something like that, but Ronny wasn't sure. It had been the first good sign though, and now that he had his two angels here he was more than happy he'd made the choice to agree with Myra's suggestion.
He was a little lost in thought while his daughter drew her picture, so much so he didn't even notice that she'd stopped. Mainly because she'd tucked against his chest..and promptly fallen asleep. "Guess its nap time..." he smiled as he watched her sleep, her little black ears twitching occasionally. He carefully moved her to his arm, letting her rest there as he used his free hand to flip back to the page and go back to working on his sketches.
This, this he can get used to. A nice quiet cuddly kid who just likes to draw and hug her father. That was fine.

I do one daily doodle a day! Usually they're drawn in 10-15 minutes and act as warmup sketches/experiemental pieces.
