A magical creature with a tragic past, Rezkamet seeks company as much as water.
Long ago, in the distant desert known as the Former great Sea, two twin sisters perished as they were crossing through the treacherous place. They were called Rezkamet and Nardelok. Rezkamet's soul, however, was so unusually resilient that instead of vanishing, it survived and became a spirit. This spirit quickly discovered how to possess the sand around it, and so, Rezkamet was reborn as a sand elemental. Tho she used to be human, she took the appearance of a jackal, her lost sister's spirit animal. Life as an elemental isn't as easy as it sounds. They must remain constantly on the lookout for magic to sustain their unusual body, and more often than not, said magic is stolen from sentient beings. If that wasn't enough, however, Rezkamet also needed water, so that her sand body wouldn't return to dust. Both were obviously difficult to find in a continent-sized desert, but Rezkemet survived, preying on unlucky travellers, draining them of their moisture.
As she wasn't evil by any means, none of her victims were harmed and the word of a "sand goddess" quickly spread all over the desert, and soon, a worship in her name began. Tho Rezkamet didn't care about being worshiped, having a cult dedicated to her was an opportunity she couldn't skip. This meant never-ending, easy supply of magic and water that she regularly took from her most dedicated cultists during rituals. Being kind-hearted, Rezkamet and her worshipers came to be known as the Guardians of The Former Great Sea. Rezkamet would use her magic to give away the locations of the ever changing desert hazards such as sandstorms and other dangerous packs of creatures, while her warriors would provide protection to travellers and grow the influence of their group. Rezkamet herself would put up fights against the greatest foes, undertaking a large and powerful dragon form.
As centuries went on, however, travellers found better, safer ways around the desert. The Sand Goddess became a mere legend. Slowly but surely, Rezkamet's worshipers couldn't spread their influence anymore and new recruits stopped joining. Until finally, her last worshiper died of old age in her arms. It is said that she cried for so long that an oasis grew underneath her, born from the combined sadness of Rezkamet and all of her burried cultists. This is where she resided, all alone, for a millenia, surviving through its reserves. Lonely, she found illusiory company building sand copies of her worshipers, recreating battles and other rituals, cherishing these memories. When her oasis eventually ran out of water, Rezkamet had finally lost everything, but a renewed will had her move closer to the shore. There, she used her remaining magic to turn into a dragon, and flew North. Weeks later, she finally found a place to land, and crashed on the beach, exhausted and ready to vanish for good. What she didn't know, however, was that the place was inhabited, and her arrival sparked a lot of confusion among the locals. Someone, none other than Andrew Reynart, investigated the scene. Understanding the situation, he willingly offered Rezkamet his own body as a water and magic source, saving her in the process.
Nowadays, Rezkamet lives on the furthest parts of Kjarisk's beach. Because salt water is unsuitable for her body, she instead take it from the adventurous locals that wander in her territory. Rezkamet has a lot of creativity when it comes to trapping and consuming a prey, which is greatly helped by her sandy body. While quicksands and other slide traps are highly effective, she isn't afraid to just snatch people using her dragon form and gulp them down during flight, or lure them close enough to her alluring curves and directly absorb them into her body. She can also create located sandstorms and engulf anyone caught within. Despite being made of sand, her body is in fact really soft and warm, and her insides are slightly muddy, allowing for some great, non-painful sex. Her body is also perfectly breathable. If she doesn't want to be seen with a man-sized bulge bouncing around, Rezkamet can even store her preys underground and harvest their moisture later.
Fact: Bringing water and/or quartz as offerings for Rezkamet is usually a safe way to cross her territory without getting trapped in her sands, but is not a guarantee. She'll still consume travelers if they look cute, or she wants some fun. In that case, she'll make sure to not keep their offerings, so they can be used another day.
