This is still a work in progress, but this is the final design for the home that my otter family will live in. I'm still trying to think of a name for the lake they live on. Any suggestions?

That's absolutely gorgeous! I love the design. Everything looks so completely natural. I would love to live in a place like that.
It strikes me as very Tolkeinesque. I'm reminded of the Hobbits, but not quite. And that's a big compliment!
I think for the lake, either name after the principal fish (since they are otters and fish!), or the principal tree surrounding the lake.

I agree with Cheddar Jack and Matthais, you've captured an early 20th century children's book style here; more E H Sheppard than Tolkien, IMHO. Only, why is the dock across the bay from the den? I guess an otter wouldn't mind swimming out to a boat, but it's a bit inconvenient.
Name for the lake? What about Forty Bays Lake? (as in a lake with about forty bays, counting the lee of a few big islands) Naturally this home is built into one of them. That would give you... or some author... lots of room for the children to explore.

Okay, to the same effect, what about Little Bays Lake -- to describe a small lake bed scoured out by glaciers thousands of years ago that has a few nice, safe harbours where the bedrock rose higher. (There might even be a Great Bays Lake downstream, but your otter family live on the smaller, cozier lake.)
