In Norse mythology, trolls were a people similar to Giants, very beautiful with refined clothes and jewels opposed to men and gods, embodying magic and the forces of nature. However in Middle Age, they were taken by Scandinavian, Icelandic and Germanic and demonized, made ugly and made stupid, wearing animals skins and eating everything they see (notably humans) never bathing. He is sometimes mistaken with elves and other members of the Little People. Some tales often depict them as bridge guardians, and some versions (notably Tolkien) make them turn to stone under the sun.
