Free as a bird (And just as shot after)
Aries had always been concerned that entanglements and getting close to someone would distract her from her work.
But after finding love, she found that it didn't make the job harder.
Oh no... it made it easier!
Even as she leaped off the balcony after stealing the only launch key of Warlord Gorix' chemical arsenal, bullets whizzing past her as she plummeted to (relative) safety below, the only thought on her mind was how she'd soon get to meet the one who not just warmed her bed, but warmed her very soul.

Oh No You Didn't was the song for Mercenaries 2, a video game where the entire plot centers around getting revenge on a guy who betrayed you and shot you in the butt while you were fleeing his villa. >w> The villa you drew is somewhat similar, complete with a character being fired on as they jump out a window. Of course the tone is a tad different... >w>
As you may know from the comic, her original name was Elizabeth DeLaVega, and her family were the thirteenth of as many Great Houses in Volencia, her home country. The King, Deimos, who was under a cloak of madness when he declared he would go to war against neighboring Rora, was shut down by Oriana DeLaVega, duchess of the House.
Because of this refusal, and because his mental state had deteriorated in a specific direction, compliments of the Kalach-Cha Order, the king issued an order to DeLaVega to send their troops to the border to watch for Rora incursion.
With the troops away, the King hired the Kalach-Cha, who were only too happy to take the job they’d been manipulating him towards, and tracked down and murdered every single person possessing DeLaVega blood. All of Aries cousins, uncles, aunts, distant relations were all murdered within thirty minutes.
Except for Aries, whose life was saved by a maid named Edna who carried her out with a bullet in her shoulder.
Aries wound up constantly moving around after growing up in a ghetto, and even after becoming a successful mercenary and living legend, she lives like a pauper, living out of her semi truck/mobile base of operations due to paranoia and a deep seated self-loathing.
She can never go home to Citadel DeLaVega and reclaim her original name because the same forces that hunted her House down could still be out there and murdering her would be an afterthought. She can’t make a home for herself in the Guild, because of numerous attempts on her life within those walls. And she can’t proverbially go home because of massive post traumatic stress that she forces under with cigars and alcohol.
She projects confidence, courage and infallibility because to do any less would be to look at the parts of herself she hates the most.
But deep inside she’s in bitter pain and Kong’s to lay roots, see friends closer than a few months apart.
But she never feels safe enough to stop moving.

Ah cool. I can see it.
And Aries is definitely a fine character. I can see why she's so popular.
She's got a deep back story, she's super attractive, very independent and strong spirited. She certainly is the first I see when you post your comics on DA.
(time to corrupt her like Discord on ecstasy)
