Dia sweetie. things are currently absuoletly abhorrent world round. TBH, apparently the only safe haven ive seen, is Ireland. I want all this stuff to stop asap too. I just hope that those that still have consciences, and have actual goddamn morals like yourself, will be safe. It is NEVER right to commit, or support, or blow off the atrocities that have been happening with the world's most recent leaders.
Be safe. We love you.
Be safe. We love you.
It's foolish to ever believe fascists are civil.

Brazil voted in a man whose greatest hits include:
-Calling indigenous people "cockroaches" and saying that black Brazilians "aren't even good for procreation".
-Telling a female reporter that she's so ugly that he wouldn't even rape her.
-Calling for death squads in the favellas.
-Wanting to ramp up military involvement in Venezuela.
-Saying that he's rather his son be dead than gay, among other homophobic statements.
-Talking positively about a past dictatorship in Brazil that would kidnap, torture, and murder any political dissidents, including their families.
-Expressed open disdain for democracy, and a want to return to autocracy.
It is also worth noting that his voters are a minority in Brazil. The candidate for the other party was arrested on trumped up corruption charges (the protests about corruption were also notably astroturfed by American think tanks) immediately after polls released demonstrating his popularity. He was replaced with a massively unpopular nobody candidate, which led to Bolsonaro's election.

Stay safe, Dia. Issues like this sprawl across the globe, intensity varies sure, but the best thing you can do is hold solace in the people in your life you know are worth giving the world some hope.
Keep the precious few close and the messy numbers game of the globe feel less like a trap and moreso like a neighbour, if that makes sense.
It won't make it go away. Chances are, it will never go away. Those people with the ability to do such things.
But at least you can survive with like-minded people whom make each day a little sunnier, a little happier, you know? ^^
Keep yourself safe, Dia.
And your friends close.

Dear Diadorin,
We don't know each other but I live in the USA. I have not heard about what is happening in Brazil right now, but I can say that my country experienced something similar after Donald Trump was elected President. There were riots, beatings, looting, and deaths. It was caused by aggression fueled by ignorance, arrogance and doubt. No doubt, it's never been easier to manipulate the foolish.
Still, what I use to keep myself from becoming depressed is the thought that at least I still care about the real truth and try my hardest to stay good. The foolish will fight forever because they are fools, but those who are wise can continue to live with honor and dignity. The foolish stick out the most because they stand the tallest and shout the loudest but the wise know the difference between a good man and a bad man.
I am sorry you must suffer this, but stay strong of heart, body and mind. It will be okay because you are obviously a good man.

as a fellow Brazilian i have to say you calling other people idiots kinda says a lot about the problem we have in hand.
we will never get anywhere if we keep painting things as black and white, and judging people's desire to be free as something terrible.
let's analyse the current situation we find ourselves in with a calm mind, the guy that got elected can have his own views on homosexuals,
no one has the obligation to like each other because of the most stupid reasons possible.
"omni omni lupus"-"man is man's wolf".
hatred for each other is completely natural.
but i don't think electing criminals just to preserve a degradation status quo because of a fear of change is irrational.
like he said, his interests are not important, and what the country wants is important.
now that the tools to defend themselves are available to the people who suffer those kinda bigoted attacks on the self, now they can defend themselves.
change is scary, but change is needed.
i don't ask you to agree with me, but i feel you're being misguided.

.......hhhhhhhhhhhhhhh....Okay
You didn't read Diadorin's post all the way through, because you obviously didn't get what he was saying. Also, based on your response, you don't even fully understand what you yourself initially commented. I'd guess you just wrote it cuz you get triggered by criticism.
Violent people like those who Fire guns randomly and beat gays are idiots and monsters. Period. It is Black and White. There's no debate there.
fukin doofus

It's the elections in Brazil, Jair Bolsonaro is winning, so the left is blaming everything bad that happens in Brazil on him.
You need to choose your moral standards and stand for them with integrity. It sounds like you're doing that pretty effectively actually, but you're having a problem reconciling your desire to improve the legal and economic shambles that Brazil finds itself in presently, and the modern idea that people on the right are exclusively evil and murderous toward gay people and whatever. You're scared, and you feel responsible because you voted for someone you think directly contributed to these recent tragedies.
You're not responsible. I sincerely doubt Bolsonaro is responsible.
-You want him to correct political corruption, crime, and economic instability. These are the things that your vote can affect. If these are things you care about, I suggest you vote for him again. However, if you want freedom more than safety, I don't suggest you vote for him again. It's a matter of what you want more. Safety vs. Freedom. Choose, and vote accordingly.
-You also want alternative lifestyles to be accepted, and for people to live and love freely. These are NOT things that your vote can affect. You have to change people's minds on a personal level. I don't suggest you cast your vote based on these things.
Don't blame yourself for bad things that happen to people, Diadorin.
