In the end I went with the opium-addicted film diva look (but with funkier hair). It didn't come out quite as well as I wanted it to, which is sad. Also how is deer not a species on the FA submissions list?!

I find it hard to believe there is no tag for either deer or goats when there are tags for animals as obscure as newts, frogs and possums! Cloven-hooves unite!!

It's really easy :D All you do is make a linear gradient from the colour you want your light to be to transparent (or black if you want a really strong effect), stick it on the layer above the background, then do the same on a layer on top of your linearts. Alter the opacity to something you like, and it's done.
