Shaka the black jaguar is a badly damaged individual; A defector from a brutal black ops unit of the fascist regime that sought to turn disposable soldiers into emotionally dead and unquestioning automatons who could kill indiscriminately, unburdened by conscience. The project almost succeeded, but some shred of humanity remained and after committing an atrocity, suddenly all the remorse Shaka had been conditioned to bottle up came crashing down on him.
After several failed suicide attempts, he defected to the rebel forces, hoping that even a monster like what he had become might be able to do good in the world if turned against those who would create monsters. Although nervous, depressive and awkward in social settings, in battle Shaka's training kicks in and he fights on deadly autopilot, manoeuvring confidently and firing with rapid precision.

Woo! Got another digital picture done! I kinda lost inspiration about partway through this, so it it took me a while to finally get it finished. Inktober's fun but it's really been taking up my drawing time and inspiration a bit haha
I had wanted to try out a low angle shot of a character. I think this came out pretty well.

reforger for his helpful input especially with the shell casings on the ground. :D

Hmm, I haven't seen that. Shaka's probably my darkest character in terms of messed-up-ness. He's very effective at the narrow set of things that he's good at (when he's got himself together), but at everything else, he's just a mess.
