‘‘Curiosities''
I’ve finally been able to finish these series of big cat portraits.
The personal meaning behind these paintings have slowly shifted towards something darker as I’ve been feeling down lately about the state of the enviroment and its wildlife..what we are doing to the earth and all it's inhabitants, is creating all manner of wounds.
If we’re not careful animals will slowly go extinct and will soon be nothing more than relics of the past, only to be observed again behind a glass wall of a museum display. Like gemstones on a cabinet.

I know the feeling. This is a perilous time, full of selfish greed and cruel disregard. You don't include lions, but unbelievably, even they are at risk. Unfortunately, unlike gemstones, even museum mounts don't last very long—a few thousand years at most, even with the best of care, and even the memory of them is gone from the universe.
