Well, maybe she could try being sedentary and inactive? Perhaps it has the polar opposite effect of what it does to other creatures.
Perhaps, to Gem, being lazy ends up burning the weight, as opposed to being active. Again, if this hypothesis is true, it would make Gem one of the more fascinating cases I have ever studied.
