Commission of a panda monk - this one has a lot that went into it! The commissioner sent me references of their actual tattoos to use as inspiration for the character's tats, and the piercings also match the commissioner's piercings. Furthermore, the commissioner is Deaf and uses ASL, so they requested the character's hands be in a meaningful position such as a mudra and the name be displayed using a written system for ASL they showed me.
While there was a lot of detail to work on and get right, I really enjoyed this project particularly because it was so meaningful to the client. I love to hear why people include certain details in their character and how they make choices in their character that reflect their person.
