So, having taken a social media detox, I've realized that it's perfectly possible for someone to commission this because of the meme and not because they support genocide of Muslims and Jews.

Getting off social media is the best thing that's happened to my brain in years.

i know i made an rather invasive observation, but i think you went a bit too far for me to follow.

I'm saying this because Paradox got a ton of backlash for using the term Deus Vult in their advertising for the latest Crusader Kings game. The term now is often used by fascists, vandalizing mosques with that phrase in an attempt to incite fear in the community. Also, the term is used a lot by fascists who see the so-called War on Terror as essentially a Crusade to forcibly convert everyone to Christianity or die. Not unlike the terms Allahu Ackbar and Inshallah tbh. (Though inshallah is more "God Willing" (aka I hope so) while Deus Vult is more "God Wills It" (aka I know so).)

Looking at the guy who commissioned this, as well as the artist, I could find no evidence of not only far-right anti-Muslim and anti-Jew views but also no evidence of their political views at all.

I just know that the idea that all art is inherently propaganda and that all art SHOULD be blatant propaganda is in vogue right now. I don't agree with that.
