Don't know if I should put this in sketches or not, but since I spent an hour on it.. Eh.. why not keep it as a deviation.
I wanted to play around with giving a t-rex body feathers/ploomage, extra fleshy parts on the face to improve smell, and a coloration other than brown or green. He came out looking like a bad-looking bird doodle with front legs and teeth. Or a fluffy kid dragon... Thing.
But I still like how it turned out. Like... the prototype fluffy t-rex. I used an Archaeopteryx, ostrich, and casuari for feather reference.
Tools I used: .05 mechanical pencil, prismacolor pencils, grey shade generic colored pencils, Zig 08 pen, PSP9 to give minor shades and fix the scan, and a generic blue pen for my sig.
edit - He's 3 toed........ Don't question the mighty Quai! The third toe is just so mighty that you can't see it through your inferior human computer screen... except for one guy in cambodia... and for that one cambodian guy... well... it blew his mind

Hmm...I think that's the first time I've every seen a T-rex handled quite that way. It's a nifty idea, actually. The big guy should watch out for prehistoric Vodun priests, though. He might be JUST close enough to an economy-sized black rooster to be useful. Of course, anyone that tries to kill THAT without a lot of help deserves a Darwin Award.
