The tribes are always warned as to how dangerous the ruins around the world are. They are full of powerful items, but many defence mechanisms are still on. Some fighters are sent to destroy these machines, so their tribe or group can scavenge whatever they protected.
The New World may be a new start, the dangers were never truly gone.
