There are three stories.
The first, disproved by myself, concerned glowing eyes seen if you drove around a certain curve outside the mausoleum just up the hillside off the left of the picture. There were headlights reflecting on a polished granite tombstone.
The second concerns a wailing spirit in the river below the trestle. Supposedly it gets particularly wild on cold winter nights. I never ran across this or ran into anyone else who had heard it. We do have coyotes in this part of the country, though. Food for thought.
The third story involves a man trapped on the trestle and killed by a train. No definite details, as this was a hobo/rail worker/fisherman, etc./ depending on who you talk to. I suspect it’s a folk tale.
