My Second one with Rita! God I love that character! ^^
I don´t know why this pic took me so long, but it did, By the way, the ground is not 3D, it´s just a little stretched and had a small perspective change, I don´t have any 3D Software nor have I the knowledge!
I originally wanted to call this Picture "No Milk Today!?" like the song (I think it was from The Beatles). But I changed my mind. ;)
The Thung on Rita´s mouth wasn´t planned to be in, I just added it with my tablet, she originally should just smile a little, but because of the milk, it fits I think.

Not necessarily. If you work with what ya got and do it right you end up with a nice effect. :) Looks like you did it pretty well here.
Here's what I did: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/1636054/
I used a slightly different brush and varied the size up a bit. It's a bit dark, but you can still see it.

Whoa, impressive man! And that´s done with one Brush? Wow.
What I wanted to have but didn´t quite achieve was shadows for every piece of grass, but that looked a litte awkward, so I didn´t include that, I tried several methods, none worked, it all looked wrong... :/
But yeah, that´s all I got, photoshop and that´s about it, I once had terragen for rendering 3D landscaped, but that was more trial n error for me as I didn´t quite get into the program, I made just two decend renderings with it! :( One if them is lost on my Amiga 1200, I have no way to get it from it´s Harddrive because my Pc doesn´t have a Floppy drive! :/ The other one is on my old DeviantArt Account, just a render of an Island nothing special.

I personally use Blender. It's got a seriously steep learning curve, but once I learned how all the controls worked I fell in love with it. It's got some "hair" and other particle effects that can create grass in a relatively realistic manner:

It's not as bad as you think. :) 3D Studio Max and others have about as many buttons.
