I think I know why. TMNT is a parody of Marvel comic characters and Nightcrawler had only 2 fingers and 2 toes (they even draw the Turtles' feet the same as Nightcrawlers!). So I guess they are secret Kurt Wagner fans? I always loved Kurt, he's such a cute fuzzy elf :) But the Turtles are my top faves (bald and beautiful is in afterall.) ^_~
But you're right, turtles do have five claws (no thumbs, it's strange), it's kinda sad the TMNT brothers lost 2 digits they could sure use (like Donnie for computer typing and chatting on the web, he likes cyber babes according to the Next Mutation series). ^.^

You're right, Nightcrawler does look like a demon with his pupil-less yellow eyes and dark blue fur and fangs (and that arrowed tail). But he's a really nice religious person, so he's the opposite from what he looks like. ^^
I find it odd in the new Wolverine show they have out now that Nightcrawler and Scarlet Witch like each other (boyfriend/girlfriend). I never would have thought to put Wanda with Kurt like that. Nor Gambit with Wanda's sister (what's her name? she has bright lime green hair and lipstick). Is she her half-sister? I'm confused. Not sure how much you know for Marvel stuff, but that stuff is new news to me.
