Can almost name the constellations visible XD It turned out really great, and the lighting on the sign is very interesting.

I'll bet this place will be brighter on a cloudless night. Maybe a full moon if I can catch it.

The sign was moving ever so slightly from the wind over a 5 minute period, so it's a bit blurry, and played with the lighting.

What type of filter did you use on this shot, and how long of an exposure?

Thanks! *Squeeze* :3 No filter, just used the 18-70mm. I think it was 5 minutes at F10 or F12. This is why there were so few photos from this place. I'm using NR for low light conditions. 10 - 14 minutes per photo.. you start to take them right on the first go. :D

Well, when it comes to lens flare like that, you're definitely gonna get it if you don't use a filter and have a bright light source in the photo. :P If it's possible, use a circular polarizer and/or a skylight 1a filter. They help reduce it substantially and can sometimes give a different effect like halation. ^^;

But still, nice shot!

I've been telling myself I needed a polarizer, but haven't picked one up yet. I suppose bitching about lens flare (often) is similar to beating my muzzle against a desk repeatedly and complaining that it hurts. ;) I'm going to get one! ...for Xmas. My own personal gift. *wag*

Go Nikon!!!! No, I don't push any one product. :) Just check to make sure it shoots at least ISO 200 (100 is even better), and a tripod is paramount with night photography.

I'm a sucker for road signs, especially ones as well composed and colored as this one (and its background) is. No worries on the flare. It's hardly noticable. Awesome work, Tiberious!

Thank you! Road signs are interesting.. for some reason. A little dangerous, though, since you really need to be standing in a road to snap them. ;) Luckily a car hasn't touched this bridge in quite some time.

This makes me wonder if we should have a road sign contest.. the most unique road sign photo (consisting of sign, angle, color, technique, whatever..). Perhaps we should get Vale and your fuzzy mate in on this, eh? :)

I think anything goes? HDR, infrared, film, digital, viewmaster *grins*. What do we base judging on? Nothing.. it's just for fun afterall. :) Winner gets a free box of hot pockets, or a year supply of Ramen noodles. They should cost roughly the same!

IT's amazing how textured and vivids the whole picture is, especially since the 'focus' is on the sign. :)

Well clouds naturally look unsharpened, so there's no specific focus point for them.
