Again I just enjoy Cookie's explaination about the combagal world. Also since this page gives us a wide clear look at the combals' costumes, I appreciate and love their design. The Lizard lady in the Heel position has that "Cool Evil Sexy" theme going on. Donkizari looks great. I enjoy how beautiful and heroic she looks in the final panel. The action going on in the first two panels is superb.
Did you just admit that the league is an act? One strives for heat and the other for pop, so that means they're falling into these roles and performing them well. So the fights aren't actually real and instead are a storyline? Because Ultimately, sometime at the end the Face has to finally win.
Well from what I have read about pro wrestling usually the outcome is scripted, but like a lot of actors they have been known to go off script. or throw the script out the window and say fuck it I'm in the match I'll do what I want. But there is a story arc to each wrestler, and those who once were faces can become heels and vice versa. Sargent slaughter is a great example of this. Who during the Gulf War teamed up with the Iron Sheik and were plotting the take over of America in classic super villain fashion.
Yeah, but again the face always eventually wins. It may take a few matches, but by the end of the season all the heroes win and all the villains are defeated. That's just how these storylines work. Take WCW when the heel group NWO took over. They did so and tried to take over the entire league (storywise), but were eventually defeated... and then WCW sold out to WWF which then got sued and became the WWE.
I don't have an issue with the series being a pro-wrestling comic, but the way it was presented at the start I thought it was going to be more MMA and less WWE. It just came out of nowhere if this was the plan all along. As for steroids... I doubt that there's going to be mention of heavy drug use given that the comic seems to be more upbeat and ditzy. I don't really expect to see any real gritty elements in the show.... except for the occasional beat down.
Of course. It's just going to take a bit to understand the process of how the industry worlds: Scripted matches vs Unscripted matches, the relationship of the fighters outside of the ring, how multiple managers work. I'm looking forward to seeing how you balance all of this. I'm sure it will be fantastic.
