Inspired by a drawing by Isumi Matsumoto of his "Kimagure Orange Road" characters Madoka Ayukawa and Kyosuke Kasuga. The anime shared the same origins as the "Get Along Gang" in which the pilot episode featured a different voice actor cast and a different animation studio than the subsequent tv series.

One of the mysteries in the "Get Along Gang" universe...the attraction between aspiring ballerina Woolma Lamb and silent foreign exchange student Rudyard Lion. The storybooks and British comic stories had Woolma and Rudyard sitting or standing very close to each other for the most part.
As long as they get along, species doesn't matter...
