Chapter I: The Life of Me:
My life is a big mess of events that should change me completely. Most of them don’t, but there is one event that has changed me and that was back in Kindergarten. I was on the playground, climbing up the monkey bars when I slipped and fell off. Back then, I was way smaller so the fall felt like I was falling off the Empire State building in New York. I hit the ground with a bang and I looked up, seeing one face.
He was the same age as me and he was standing over me. “Are you okay?” he asked. I stood up and brushed myself off. “Yeah, I’m okay. My name is Aiden. What’s yours?” “Jack. I’m new here,” he replied sheepishly. I giggled. “Me too.” “Do you want to play with some of my toys?” asked Jack. “Sure,” I said and I and Jack took off from there.
Little did I know that he would become the closest friend that I have ever had. He was there for everything. He was there when the International Space Station was finished. He was there when YouTube was created. He was there when Minecraft came out. He was there when I got my first girlfriend. He was there when Logan Paul died. He was even there for that terrible Sonoma County firestorm. And he is still here for me today.
I am now in 11th grade and my friendship with Jack has been going on for more than 14 years. Over the years, I have met Jack’s friends as well and vise versa. Our group of friends slowly grew and soon, we turned into a group of about seven friends. I, Jack, Marty, Steven, Albert, and Lucy are the members of the group.
For years we loved to hang out, but today is going to be a great day. Today is my last day of Freshman year of high school. The day started out like any other day. The alarm clock sounded in my room, I let the dog out, went to the bathroom, had stale cereal for breakfast and packed my bag for school. Once my Mom dropped me off, I headed off to my classes.
When the bell rang at 10:00 AM for the break, I ran out into the courtyard where Jack, Lucy, and Steven hang out. They waved me over and I sat next to Jack.
“Hey,” I said to Jack. “Hey. How’s it going?” he asked. “What are you doing later today when school ends? I was hoping we could have a sleepover.” asked. “I don’t know what I’m doing, I’ll see if I’m free,” Jack said. Lucy joined in too. “Can I come too?” she asked. “Mabey. I have to see.” I told her. “I’ll text you,” I said.
We spent the rest of the break talking about video games, sex jokes, memes, and other random stuff. We tend to talk about the stupidest topics, most of them are things that we shouldn’t even be talking about. The best part about our conversations is that we love to make a big stink about a subject that really doesn’t matter. People do it on the internet all the time.
Then we had our other classes. I spent most of the time texting Marty and Albert asking them. They both had the same sort of answer, they were busy. By the time school ended, only Jack was able to sleep over tonight, but that was okay. It would be less mess to clean up.
My mom picked me up at 12:30, as that was when school ended, and it was great! No more school for the rest of the summer. It felt like over 180 days of hard work was finally rewarded with a three-month break. This was going to be the best summer ever! I told my mom that Jack was coming over to sleep over and she said it was okay.
She checked in with Jack’s mom and she said it was okay. I was excited. He was supposed to come over at 6:30. So I just simply played video games and watched dank memes till he got here. This was going to be the best summer vacation ever…
