redoing ones own work can be hard. It's so easy to go too far one way or the other, either not being able to admit whats wrong, or not being able to admit what's right.

and recognising the bits that are good in theory, but you just didnt have the ability back then to make work... knowing that to keep it, rather than just seeing its wrong and scrapping it. or again, vice-versa, maybe remembering loving the idea of one element, and being able to admit that it wasnt maybe the best idea and doesnt work.
