I was feeling down the other day and decided to illustrate one of my two favorite tarot cards*, The Hermit. In the meantime, I /really/ wanted to portray a starry night sky and experimented. Conclusion: Splattering masking fluid with the brush and then applying a wash works pretty well. In the future I'll have to refine the way I splatter so it looks less like I...splattered, if you see what I mean. :]
Hmm. I appear to have this thing for aardvarks in cloaks standing in front of pretty backgrounds. And on rocks.
All in all, this was a very fun piece, and I learned a lot. I'm glad I did it.
MEDIA: Micron ink, watercolor, and a small bit of black colored pencil. Masking fluid was used. 6x7 inch watercolor paper.
