The Cheshirepede appears to children on Hallow'een night, inquisitive about all the hubbub and how, like him, children are not what they appear to be. If they react with fear and horror to his odd shape, he will hiss and cover their legs and feet with stinging bites from his needly teeth! However, if treated with compassion and kindness, the children will often find themselves watched over by a little tabby cat whose only odd feature are his unusually piercing and intelligent blue eyes.
