I think the elements in this picture come together very well. The fox there in the center takes his aggressive posture, which means s/he's about to move. Below them, vines and thick brush act as a sort of a barrier, curved outward to the point where the fox is almost being emitted into the upper levels of this dense wood. I think the lower half of the picture creates a good amount of dynamic tension, giving the sense of this fox rising from the woods to take a king's view from the top.
The fox himself seems rather preoccupied. His ears and eyes suggest there is prey afoot. What better vantage point than this to find it?
This is certainly a dynamic, but understated, picture. The branches at the bottom come together to form what looks to me like a tide breaking, with the fox riding the crest of the largest wave. Maybe it's juts a brief bit of sun before he must again plunge into the turmoil or survival in nature.
This really is an impressive picture. It inspires tension in me when I look at it.
