Background
Haneul grew up in a puppy mill outside Gyeryong-si in South Chungcheong province. After watching her mother pass away from being over bred, she feared that this would be her future as well. Haneul made her escape over a short period of time, slowly digging her way out underneath the chicken wire wall of their 40"x56" stall.
She was soon accompanied by two of her siblings, Baram and Gojo. Together, they made their way through the labyrinth of overcrowded kennels. The barking that seemed to be everlasting, had come to an abrupt and eerie silence as others soon noticed them. Adults crowded the front gates of their kennels to watch the pups crawl their way through piles of feces and trash, just to go unseen by the humans that dictated them. One male in particular, a Chow Chow named Min-Ho, lowered his head as Haneul passed by with her siblings right on her tail.
Despite his size, his voice was gentle and loving. He offered his help, as he had ventured much farther than his own kennel before. Min-Ho joined their brigade and led the pups for what seemed like hours. With daylight drawing to an end, the pups became antsy and huddled closer to their new friend.
Min-Ho was one of the breeding males in this facility. His ears were slightly deformed and wrinkled from birth. His nose wasn't pushed in like the other Chow Chows here, instead it was longer like that of a Labrador.
His fur was grown out so much, that by laying over the pups, or even standing, he could hide their small bodies. This proved to be a great advantage as the humans that passed by, often times would be afraid to approach him and just turn their backs. This lead to an easy start to their journey ahead of them.
I'm debating on continuing this story. I think it'd be neat as a comic as well. Let me know? o:
