I took quite a few pictures at the zoo, but the lake and stream areas are my favorite. They simply remind me of the days in my early childhood when my family and I were stationed in Germany at the base in Stuttgart and we would walk in the park areas near the river. Such a nice park area here. The animals were nothing special since one can see them at other zoos. Though I must admit a few are a first for me like the birds and the foxes they have here. (I saw a fennec fox, and they were so cute and cuddly. Plus they remind me of Pokemon, only real). LOL. ^\/^.

Damn, I feel so sorry about the poor animals that are being forced to live in such squalid condition against their will, I am certain a lot of animal charities would pettition to have the animals moved to a more cleaner zoo unless the Beijing zoo starts actually cleaning the cages and puts up signs saying "do not feed the animals and please respect the animals and do not toss garbage at them or harass them in anyway" unless this garbage happens to be the waste the animals make themselves, then they would pettition the zoo to actually take proper care of the animals and clean the cages every day so that the animals are not living in their own urine and feces, as well as that of their cage mates.
I almost hate to bring this up, but when a country has such a spotty record on human rights as China does, you can hardly expect them to have a spotless animal rights record. But yeah, animals that are in captivity already have it hard enough without having garbage cluttering up their cage.
All the environmentalists are too focused at complaining about America to do that. The general result of becoming environmentally friendly is a loss of money and America gives into such demands too easily these days.
China, at least, has the balls to tell them no and are still a growing country and has yet to reach such a industrial class or funds to even focus on being environmentally friendly as easily as other countries.
The fact that they are as clean in the streets and have recycling of a number of things shows at least that they are trying.
The zoo itself has been lacking in funds anyhow and I rather blame the tourists who put the garbage in the pins than the underfunded zoo workers.
It is difficult to fund a zoo when a country makes it their business to take care of their people first, and this country has over a billion people after all. In America, even though there is not much if any garbage in the pins, has a ton along the paths and such whereas it is the opposite at this zoo. That shows that China cares for its tourists and citizens more than the animals whereas America seems to care more for animals than its tourists and citizens when it comes to zoos. ANd what is sad is that American zoos are better funded and they rather spend that on state of the art pins while having trashy paths for the tourists. LOL. ^\/^.

I had a nice trip. Thank you for the consideration. It is too bad that the school couldn't ask for a little more time for the trip and money from the students (due to limitations). If there were but a few more days and the ability to raise the trip cost, I could of also visited Xian, to see the emperors tomb complex, and also Hong Kong, to see a number of sites and businesses (the trip was for International Business). ^\/^.
