• Biography: Kohaku is one of the ½ mermaids born to Junichiro and Palutena coming from the 3rd batch that came about as a result of heavy fertilization from her father. Kohaku was one of the 4th ½ mermaids from the 3rd batch to leave Palutena’s womb a week after Hiltrude was born, leaving only Eurydice and Aceline (The latter of whom still had a month left before being fully developed inside her mother) inside her mother’s belly at the time. Kohaku always knew her father traveled across the multiverse in order to protect his world, and his family from any threat that could invade it and do them serious harm. She always greeted him happily with a tackle hug each time he returned home and stuck around anytime he had stories to tell (He always did). In one story, Kohaku was told of a tale from a visit he had in the Senran Kagura universe, and as she listened, she immediately opted to be a ninja so that one day, she could travel with her father and fight evil like he does. As she trained in the ways of a ninja, Juni searched for her, intent to give her a helping hand in her training, until she “ambushed” Juni with another hug, this time a normal one completely before he could even notice what hit him. While her stealth lesson finished, she still needed to learn how to fight and Juni helped Kohaku in that department without hesitation, teaching her how to throw shuriken and daggers like a pro, in addition to swinging a sword. Kohaku mastered knife throwing with ease but had trouble with the sword. It was decided to put off sword training for a while, but once Kohaku went with her sisters and father to the Fire Emblem realm, settling on the land of Gaia during their time there, Kohaku resumed sword training for when she would promote from a regular ninja to a Master Ninja one day. In Gaia, she was quickly enlisted in the Gaian Army, but even though the army was decimated in the Gaian War of Light and Shadow, Kohaku remained by her father’s and Julie’s side to continue fighting in the newly formed Gaia Alliance. In both instances, Kohaku served as a reconnaissance unit, fulfilling stealth missions with ease, but not always perfectly as she has almost gotten herself killed upon being discovered in a dungeon full of bandits at one point, yet Kohaku always makes it out alive to fight another day. Kohaku, as expected with any of Juni’s many children, is a kind-hearted individual who always strives to do the right thing. However, she does have her sneaky moments, always pouncing on her friends to hug them whenever she gets the chance. Unfortunately, she can also be a bit scatterbrained as she sometimes does not plan her ambushes very well. One ambush lead to her and her father being stuck in a voracious mud pit, and another got them eaten and stripped to their underwear by a carnivorous plant once. Despite these flaws, Kohaku is a surprisingly excellent babysitter as she often plays with the younger members of the Gaia Alliance when no one else would be able to. While she likes just about anything rich, rough and bitter foods upset Kohaku’s stomach. The best at giving ambush hugs.
• Abilities: Like any of her ½ mermaid siblings, Kohaku has the power to change into her mermaid form upon entering the water, which boosts her movement, and Avoid/Dodge while submerged in the deep blue. Even so, being a ninja, she already enjoys some good avoid, but the boost granted while in the water almost makes it near impossible to even touch her with anything. While her speed and skill are impressive, her strength, defense, and resistance leave something to be desired. However, her growth rates in these departments is top notch, but her luck often needs help in catching up with the others. Nonetheless, Kohaku is perfectly capable of holding her own on the battlefield. She starts with the following weapons and skills.
o Iron Shuriken: An easy to wield Shuriken. Grants Speed +2 when equipped and inflicts a -2 debuff to an enemy’s magic, and a -3 debuff to an enemy’s defense and resistance, respectively, upon a successful strike. Can be used 40 times before breaking.
o Sting Shuriken: Grants Speed +2 when equipped. Effective against armored units. Inflicts a -3 debuff to an enemy’s skill, defense, and resistance upon a successful strike. Can be used 25 times before breaking.
o Raider Knife: Good for follow-up attacks. With weapon advantage, tears off the enemy’s clothes. -2 debuff to the enemy’s luck, defense, and resistance upon a successful strike. Can be used 40 times before breaking.
o Camouflage: Kohaku’s personal skill. When standing on a forest, mountain, or fort tile, Kohaku “hides” in that panel and is invisible during that turn. If an enemy unit steps onto the tile Kohaku has hidden herself on, she gets to strike first during the enemy phase. The effect wears off once she has ambushed the enemy, or once the enemy phase is over.
o Locktouch: Opens doors and chests without the use of keys.
