Falling asleep in History Class was a terrible idea. Nemui had seen some interesting dreams while in her role of dream guardian, ranging from the fantastical, unnerving, and erotic; but, there was just something about this dream that really made the Ursine beauty arch a beautiful brow, as her eyes glanced about the marble columns supporting the rows of faceless citizens screaming into the arena. Nemui was in a Colosseum [ likely the same one in Rome ] as the faceless phantasms of the city belted out challenges and praises into the circular combat zone - sand at the bear’s feet as she held Lullay in her right hand.
Across from her was a figure in only a leather loincloth, some scrap armor on their left shoulder down to their wrist, and a peculiar helmet that looked like an older gentleman screaming at her. Whether this was for intimidation, or humor, the Celestial of Dreams was uncertain, but she was more than willing to lean into the latter at this point. The warrior raised their weapon into the air - a trident of old brass- and sent up a cheer from the formless spectators. This same weapon was then pointed at Nemui, a voice barking,
“Prostate yourself to me, wench! Or face the wrath of the arena!”
Nemui blinked in confusion; what the hell was going on?
“Forgive me, but I’m mostly here to help people with their dreams. You seem very comfortable at the moment.”
The bear flapped her wings as she hovered a few feet off the ground - sand wisping beneath her - and stared down the warrior. The answer she received, made the Ursine grit her teeth as her left brow twitched.
“I have heard stories of you, Dream Guardian! I wish to claim you, to shackle you, and make you my own property! Your body will be a tribute to me.”
The warrior waited for a response; Nemui raised her staff up in her hand and struck them across the top of their helmet with intense force. Like a gong sounding in the arena, the Gladiator’s helmet dented into their head as they toppled to the ground with an explosion of sand particles.
Nemui barked.
“BAKA!”
