One of my favorite things about Japan is the onsen (温泉 / hot spring) culture. When I lived in Ishikawa, I used to visit the onsen probably three or four times a week, just to enjoy the quiet, relaxing atmosphere and the occasional solitude of the outdoor pool (露天風呂 - rotenburo).
Perhaps someday I'll have the pleasure of living in Japan again -- until then, I'll keep visiting whenever I can, and enjoying all of the great aspects the people and culture have to offer.
