Isn't that just the instinct of a living creature? To want to protect and preserve life? Vizlet, calm down. That said, it would be adorable to watch Kass raise a yinglet. And I'm sure the crazy researcher would be thrilled out of his mind to watch the development of a growing yinglet.
That's not a very common instinct. You have animal fathers that kill rival male children if they don't believe it's theirs so as to conserve supplies for themselves and their line, mothers that will abandon their children upon sensing illness or weakness or because food supplies are low, and a large number of harsh measures within the animal kingdom.
The instinct of protecting and preserving life, especially that is not your own or part of your genetic tree is a very rare trait.

Gotta say, being trans, I completely empathize with Kass. Being forced into a role you aren't comfortable with or really able to understand at the base levels, plus being stuck with a physical form that isn't congruent with your innate wiring is extremely stressful and internally destructive. It's the reason I'm not generally into the whole transformation thing. You, Val, have captured me with an engrossing story, exciting and ever-deepening lore, and lovable characters to the point I'm able to look past the uncomfortable nature of certain parts.
It makes me really glad to hear that! While I do have fun with some typical TF-related tropes and such, it's always been the plan to not skip over the inherently freaky and discomforting aspect of the whole "mind at odds with the body" part of a situation like this; some humorous, some serious. So naturally, it's always good to hear when I hear that someone feels the comic's accomplishing that. : D
I think that's why I continue to watch you. Too many furry artists/authors seem to skip over some of the unpleasant consequences that would occur in these situations. I rather adore anyone who does not, even those who take it to extremes, like the Dog Eat Dog universe. Creators with spine are far better than those who don't deliver.

Naw, but really, I do love this comic and its maker.
The art's great, expressions are on point, personalities have natural depth, setup always looks good, story is complex yet easy to follow, lore is expanded alongside the comic instead of being neglected, not to mention that the artist is kind and humble and friendly.
And bonus; every time I'm upset, seeing an upload makes my day a billion times better. <3

This page makes me very happy. The thing with Kass being quite so resistant was starting to feel a bit overdone for someone who _has_ demonstrated a pretty strong caring/nurturing side. The thought of there possibly being a live person in that egg who might be left to die is going to be a sobering thought.

indeed. even i, who absolutely LOATHE children, would feel the need to at least give the egg a tiny bit of help. i'd promptly abandon it afterwards cuz EW babies are NASTY, but i'd feel bad knowing that it would take so little effort for me to potentially save a creature's life.
Love the story, and the twists.
Also, really liking the dresses, expressions and poses. Glasses in particular are good, and I like how the eyes are. Overall, just talking, but the changes from panel to panel keep the panels interesting, and the drapery of clothing is awesome.

Well...parents, that is. not just mothers. I"m playing this minecraft modpack, it's got these...little creatures, like a forest sprite. they make these toddler babble sounds, and croons. And to me, it's just sounds. and I tend to avoid them, cause it's unpleasant, and bleh. do not want. if they dropped anything more useful than an oak sapling...I'd probably farm them.
A youtuber I watch for the same pack runs through the same area, hears the same croons, and "playful toddler babble" type sounds, and he's going mushy. like "aaawwweh, that's so cuuuuute!" just average guy. and he says, "I really don't want to, but Igotta know if they drop anything. interesting." and kills one and then is like. "Oh, good, nothing I want. the rest are spared!"
Clearly...some people just...don't...aren't...uh...yeah. I'm not a dad.

yea I gotta agree with you on here and say to include women in there too. I've met some women that are NOT mothers in any sense of the word. (which isnt a bad thing)
gotta admit though reading this particular page makes me feel...disturbingly uncomfortable. I'm totally sure why but perhaps it's just that imagining myself in a similar situation as our newly female yinglet would probably have my screaming for the hills if anyone talk about or tried my to make me feel motherly/female.

A. They are trying to do eugenics with out actually understanding how it works..... They don't fully understand selective breeding.

I was almost expecting Kass to offer to take the egg back with him. Although, I don't know what possessed me to think that. As he may show sympathy for the unborn hatchling, it doesn't feel like it would be enough to urge him to take on such a responsibility, especially considering his proven distaste for children.
