New Big Bellied Best Friend Part 1
Looking to expand Graphite Stylus's horizons, Twilight introduces him to her BBBFF. All Graphite has to do is smile, be nice, and not faint or run away at the sight of him.
It was a sunny day in Ponyville as Twilight Sparkle was waiting at the train station with her new friend, Graphite Stylus. Graphite was a pony with a past. A past that was both heartbreaking to endure and to learn about. Needless to say, Graphite needed friends. “Are you sure I need to be here?”, Graphite asked. They were waiting for Twilight’s brother, Shining Armor. Graphite’s apprehension came from the fact that since the first and last time he saw Shining, they’ve never hung out or talked. It also didn't help that Graphite was intimidated by Shining’s size and his confidence in said size. “Of course!”, Twilight said, bringing Graphite out of his thoughts. “Not only do I get to see my BBBFF, but I also noticed that you two never really interacted. Shining noticed it, too.”, Twilight said, placing a hand on the brown alicorn’s shoulder. “BBBFF?”, Graphite asked. “Yeah. Big Brother Best Friend Forever.”, Twilight explained. “‘Big’ is right.”, Graphite thought. “The point is, this will be a chance for you to expand your circle of friends.”, Twilight said, smiling. Graphite had to admit, Twilight had a point. The only friends he had other than Twilight and her friends were Xerxes, a griffin he met when he was a colt, and Frost, an ice dragon he cared for. He was once again brought out of his musings, this time by a loud SCREEEEEEEECH as a train made of crystal skidded to a halt at the station. “Sorry”, Twilight groaned, recovering from the auditory onslaught. “Probably should’ve warned you about that.” “WHAT?!”, Graphite shouted as the ringing in his unprepared ears slowly died down. The doors to the train opened to reveal...purple and white. That’s all the two alicorns could see through the doorway until the purple and white mass exited the train, revealing the head of the captain of the royal guard, Shining Armor. “Sweet Celestia, he’s HUGE!”, Graphite thought, breaking into a cold sweat. Shining was wearing black pants and a deep purple sleeveless hoodie. The latter seemed to draw attention to his powerfully muscular arms and his large, globular belly. “Twily!”, Shining thundered. Even his voice seemed indicative to his size. “Shining!”, Twilight yelled back in glee as she ran into Shining for a hug. “It’s so good to see you again!”, the siblings said in unison. “Hey, I was gonna say that!”, they continued. Graphite wanted to say something, but he couldn’t. Shining seemed to have grown since the last time Graphite saw him. Graphite tentatively took a step forward to make his presence known. “You remember Graphite, right?”, Twilight asked, motioning to said alicorn. “Sure I do,” Shining said, walking over to Grahpite, who merely came up to the bulky unicorn’s chest. “How’ve you been?”, Shining asked, putting out his hand. Graphite gulped and almost robotically brought up his hand for Shining to shake. “...Hi. I mean, good!”, Graphite managed to stutter, immediately cursing himself for even opening his mouth. “Yep. You’re off to a great start.”
