if you think that's a lot, you've seen nothing. I'm a beta and alpha Firefox tester, one of the early 3.0.x.x alphas ate up over a gigabyte of memory over a 3 week span. of not turning it off.

I've had the same problems with Firefox, but only on slower networks. It works fine on my fiber optics. :P

Yeah it's hungry, but from memory Firefox is a bit better than Opera (or it was in the early days), and a lot better than IE (mind you, practically 'everything' is better than IE).

Pff... that's nothing. Mozilla is getting into the "safe browsing" thing. If you don't disable it, after a cold system start, Firefox will write hundreds of megs of data to your hard drive when it starts up.

That's not as bad as Chrome, though. Chrome writes about 2GB of data on a cold start on my machine with the monitoring tool I'm using. That's not the kind of web browser you want to use with a solid-state drive. That's why I use SRWare Iron instead of Chrome for web development.

Only 71 meg? My Firefox frequently funs 1-1.5gig in ram... and people wonder why I swapped to chrome :P

Lol, I've seen 190 megs, but usually it balances out around 90 or so. Alright, me, Foxkeh, and that logo all need to go hit the buffet. :P
