Here is a ton of doodles ive been doing this week in my spare time or sometimes just in the middle of a lecture because thats how you pass classes. you doodle dragons in the middle of them
Anywho to use this as an excuse to talk about the DragonScape, as ya do (left to right top to bottom)
Las Tribus de Los Macheteros is mostly what became of a lot of southern Columbia. Drekir in columbia just kinda kept on after their government collapsed (not really there to begin with to my knowledge.) These are usually smaller hunter gatherer groups or more static farming communities. Often these tribes will fight eachother, which is natural and like back in the days of the revolution, the Machete is king of the farming field and the battlefield. Los Macheteros (The machete wielders) tend to be pretty dangers, often sacrificing range or armor for sheer speed and stamina. These tribal warriors are scattered across Columbia. They rise up as needed to keep another corrupt force from pushing them down again, be it caste dragons, humans or other drekir they are some tenacious folk!
Thats a lot with one lil doodle, anyways
I've been thinking about US drekir in the midwest being more cowboy-esque in their look and whatnot. So long coats, floopy hats for floopy ears and some suspenders here and there! Makes sense to me!
A dragon kitty for your troubles! A handy backpack revolver slappin drek and a sleeveless hoodie donned desert drek for practicing an angle.
Guns in Canada and Alaska are basically the rarest of the rare. They don't have much of anything in those regions and most drekir in those regions fight with the blade, the pike, bows, crossbows etc. Gun's are rarely rifled, often being muskets or shotguns (often both depending on what you throw down the barrel) and ignition is very crude, often just burning rope. As such guns are less of a practical tool and more of a status symbol. But i wanted to draw one, these things look mostly like arquebuses because they basically are.
I was watching some old star wars and saw the red guard and was like "huh im gonna dragonscape it" Probably a super rich merc, because they got a harmonica rifle and some fancy armor+robes
The digital drawings at the bottom were gonna be the original upload, but i wanted to add the pencil doodles! so the idea of the bottom doodles was to talk about sorta the "average guard" of the dragonscape, often in rural towns.
These guys are often farmers who are simply taking their part of the town or village's militia service to just keep things locked down. These guards are often poorly equipped with little training (they're usually farmers, technicians or programmers.) Often with only a few scraps of armor that the village holds onto and maybe a nifty gun.
so again, left to right top to bottom
Guards gotta pass the time yo. But Radios and TVs are important in the DragonScape as drekir slowly rebuild stuff, often jury rigged radio towers help provide local broadcasts to a region. The shows broadcasted depends on the drekir. They can be talkshows with local drekir, watches that warn of caste dragon sightings, general news and (usually wrong) weather forecasts, or something else! Radio and TV broadcasts are one of the few links to the old life drekir lived and most towns take it as a sign of pride to have even just 1 or 2 radios or TVs.
Here is a well to do militia guard with a nice red shirt, and some armor and a shotgun... a bullpup shotgun!.. a bullpup muzzleloaded caplock double barreled shotgun fuckivelostmymind...
If someone wants a bang stick, whether its a muzzleloaded, breach loaeded or even some variant of repeating gun, many pick shotguns. You can shoot a lotta things out of them and they are incredibly versatile. Deer slugs for deer, birdshot for birds, buckshot for that guy who wants to break into your tiny hovel, etc.
So it would be no surprise that guards would take their smokesticks into their often necessary short work on a graveyard shift at the town gates.
But without competition, the most common weapon employed by your average guard of whom is drafted into guarding the walls is the spear. Spears are simple and cheap to make as well as simple to use. they can be anything from a sharp stick to scrap metal laying around all the way to nice VerdaStal Spears. The simplicity in which they can be used (stab em dave just jab em with the damn thing) means that a village may keep 5-10 various spears laying around and pass em out with some scavenged or homebuilt armor for guards to wear.
I imagine these as two aquatic drekir on a teeny island village in the middle of the Caribbean sea.
libertades ¡Gracias por Ayudarme!
The translation should be something like:
"That is the worst parking job:
"Shutup Idiot."
Thats all I am starting work on the Balar story! Expect some jungle shenanagins soon!
Shaggy out!
