^u^ I finally found one! Actually found three, but this was the freshest, largest, and more photogenic one. Beautiful edible and medicinal fungi on par with the traditional Lion's Mane. I picked this 'un to try it--quite good, very crabmeat-tasting.
This is just such a cool mushroom to find. :D It is so rare and really only occurs in good, undisturbed forests, with lots of deadwood allowed to remain on the ground (which is the case on my acres... and probably the reason there are so many good mushies and plants there).
