Tammy wasn't like all of the other dragons in her clan. She was heavy, wingless, had a massive underbite, and tended to drool and grunt uncontrollably. Her bulk meant that she couldn't keep up while hunting. Her clutchmates really began to tease her when they were learning to fly. Eventually they simply became bored of teasing her, but she was left out when they were taught draconic magic. Left alone, she began to wander and explore the neighboring territories, meeting a young wizard in the process. Throughout his apprenticeship he'd always fantasized about teaching a monstrous beast the arcane arts, and here was his chance.
She would grow to become a powerful wizard, and decided to become a guardian for her trainer's home town. Of course, nobody wants to mess with a magic-wielding, earth-shaking lass, so her job is relatively boring. Fortunately, she is able to entertain herself and the other guards with cantrips.
