Strengths:
Hard Beyond his Years
Incredibly tough for his age, Dealanach greets monstrous villains not with fear or horror, but cold anger. Hard to frighten or intimidate, he is a stubborn and resilient adversary.
Brawn and Brains
Not afraid to fight dirty, Dealanach is a cunning and extremely unpredictable melee fighter. Able to engage both at range and close in, he is hard to counter in a straight up fight.
Sharper than he looks
Fierce and brutish though he may be, Dealanach also possesses a formidable understanding of criminal psychology, and is a shrewd judge of character, thanks to his upbringing.

Due to his brutal childhood, Dealanach is naturally aggressive when he feels threatened. This can make alliances difficult, and his powers can occasionally fly out of control, with expensive results for the local power grid.

While he is certainly no fool, a lack of formal education since the age of 12 has left Dealanach considerably impaired when it comes to complex technology and academic ability. While tutoring is slowly rectifying this, he is still catching up with his peers.

When working with Armour-wearing or cybernetic allies who lack EMP protection, Dealanach must concentrate in order to bring his full power to bear on the enemy without endangering said allies.

Dealanach is vulnerable to devices which cut off electromagnetic fields, and if contained in one he must rely on his strength alone to break free.

Bio:
Duncan Gunn was born the illegitimate child of the Scottish unregistered heroine Moire Gunn AKA Gaisgeach, on the Gaelic-speaking Hebrides Islands. His father was a hero from abroad, who's identity remains a mystery.
When Duncan was no older than a few months, his mother disappeared during a rescue operation in the Atlantic ocean and was not seen again.

Duncan spent the next 10 years of his life with his grandparents in the Hebrides, until they both died within a few months of each other, rumour has it of broken hearts.
The boy was taken between a series of neglectful care homes until he ran away at the age of 12 and ended up on the streets of Glasgow. His powers manifested a a few weeks later, when he was brutally mugged by a gang of youths who gave him the distinctive facial scars he still bears. In the incident he killed one of his attackers, before joining a gang of superpowered orphans known as the "bairns".

At the age of 17, after several years of vigilantism and petty crime, Duncan had the fortune to be apprehended by a sympathetic heroine.
As part of his plea bargain, he agreed to serve in her group as a member, and once his story was known the community quickly took him under their collective wing.
Since then he has flourished under the hard training, including a run through the Royal Marines commando course, and family atmosphere. He is emerging as potentially one of Britain's most powerful heroes.

Personality:
For all his thuggish appearance and mannerisms, deep down Dealanach is a kind hearted being with a strong moral core, and unwavering loyalty to his surrogate-family.
This basic decency however is smothered by a deep sense of anguish at how society treated him for so long. He longs for revenge against whoever is responsible for his mother's disappearance, and this combined with his desire to know his father can make him gloomy company.
