4th page of the untitled "Berrycity" comics featuring Miellaby and Grise Rosée.
This is also the last page I've ever done. I didn't even try to finalize them. Observe the so-called "artist" progress from draft strokes to finalized drawings. Rubber seems to be my main tool actually.
Translation hereafter:
Miellaby - Grise! I need to tell you something.
Grise Rosée - Please, little wallaby, tell me :)
Miellaby - but?! one second. I see only one bed and we are two.
Grise Rosée - Come on Miel! What did you want to say?
Miellaby - well, the mistress of this hostel is stuck on you. _I know_ I smelled it!
... thanks to my natural gift. You know, my nose.
Grise Rosée - ok ; well ; about your first asking, I won't sleep here tonight. That being said, I don't know how to thank you for your "scoop".
Miellaby (disappointed) - You're welcome
Miellaby sniffing - Moreover, now I smell an other very strong odor in this room ... but I don't see what it deals with yet.
Grise: *sighs*

I think all the idea of the series is sum up here. I wanted to tell a quite gentle story within a fantasy world, and melt it with adult-legible jokes. The Miellaby/Grise characters pair is supposed to be humourous: one is very naive and trusting in opposite to the other. At the beginning, Grise wins most points. Then, Miellaby reveals himself to be a cure for Grise's inability to love and compassion.
If you want to know everything, there was several parallel storylines among all the issues
* Miellaby eventually learns he is "pheronomophile". Don't look for a translation. It means he's got a natural gift allowing him to smell every information about animal body states -lust, pregnancy...-. Miellaby already knew he can tell any person's lineage as well, that is who's anyone's biological father. As a matter of fact, this gift will put Miellaby in many many dangerous situations.
* What did Grise before meeting Miellaby? It looks like he comes back after having been banished for many years. I don't even know why myself. But I guess he was threaten to death as a witness of some sex scandals in high society involving the king himself (a stallion).
* As Miellaby's naiveness diminishes, he starts looking for a mate. It becomes a sort of background storyline. But I didn't plan to give him a single chance as ...
* the very big secret you're not supposed to discover before the #89912 issue is that actually everything happens in our own future far after the artificial extinction of human species. Because I find this idea classy. It explains as well why Miellaby is the only roo (with a pouch actually, maybe I wanted to make him herm) of this whole world. Poor thing.
* Miellaby and Grise are soon joined by other of my characters: Thybert, a smug person who always wants to make business with Miellaby's sniffing ability ; Mélanjolie is a good-looking fem wolf who acts as everyone's loving mother -except Grise she love secretly- after joining the team ; There is a bitch as well -I don't remember her name-. She's always really positive and such. She also says Yes to every male's proposal, which appears to be a serious problem of hers. Now I'd like to make her look like Rose's avatar (sorry Rose).
That being said, I think the main reason I didn't keep on working on my skills is the fact I could not manage my urge to draw porn. I think I could not have help myself putting the cursor too far, making the whole series rejected by some potential readers.
