The valley illuminated once more as the setting sun slipped between the large peaks of the surrounding mountains. The lush autumn forest breathed it's harmonic tune as the evening breeze slipped through the grand instrument nature had to offer. However, this was no solo masterpiece, as another presence slipped in and out of the chorus to add their own melody to the fray. After all, what is nature if not expecting the unexpected? The new voiceless voice glided swiftly and gracefully through the golden foliage, the speed and force both undeniable and unchallenged, yet still nature continued it's rhythm, as if un-phased by this new, but strangely familiar instrument. Life goes on. The flow, undisturbed. All is right in the world. All is protected by the wings of the sky.

Goodness... Where to begin with this one?... This artwork still feels so surreal to me, and here in a second you might understand why. Other than it's obvious, undeniable beauty, the balanced composition, the detailing down to the last feather... This was a commission that I received as my twenty-first birthday gift from none other than my flesh and blood, my mother.

Seriously though, how many people can say that their own parent(s) put in the effort to not only take the time to familiarize themselves with their children's hobbies, but to also go out and get themselves involved with something to this quality!? I am truly blessed and forever grateful for having such an amazing mother, and I'm so glad that I built up the courage to tell her about the furry fandom and what it means to me.

Here's the real kicker... This piece? This was done by one of her former students when she was an art teacher in high school. BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE. This former student... has never drawn anything of furry nature until now, and I dunno about you guys, but I think she absolutely smashed it outta the park!
