Chapter 1: In which Simon and James Enjoy Some Shaved IceHere we see Simon after he has finished his Quest to see the Princess of the Makai safely take her proper throne, and after his first adventure after that. In said first adventure after his last adventure, Simon made a new friend in James Wagner, a half-human, half-fur hybrid. While mostly human, he has a few parts of him that are fur which carried over from his mother.
Normally, in the universe with Simon Byrne, humans and furs co-exist, but rarely ever have children together due to genetic incompatability. However, occasionally a human/fur hybrid child will be born, but they are rare and often born with a genetic leaning towards either their human or fur parent. Only a few cases are documented where a human and fur gave birth to a child that was perfectly 50/50 human and fur. Even so, hybrids were also often born with certain health risks, even if their outward appearance was flawless.
James' father is a prominent scientist who devoted his life to developing a medicine or treatment that would improve the chances of having healthy human/fur hybrid children who also were a perfect 50/50 genetic human/fur mix between their parents. James's father used himself as an initial experiment to earn funding to continue his research. The end result was James himself, and while perfectly healthy, his 85% human / 15% feline genetic makeup caused him a lot of grief growing up with constant teasing from humans and furs alike.
Although he initially bore a grudge against his father, James has come to terms with him and understands now that his father just wanted to make the world a better place for humans and furs. Here, James is now in his earl 30's.

Technically, this isn't her introduction, but I've gotten so fed up with characters I haven't used, that I'm just going to go ahead and jump ahead to stories where I can have multiple characters appear.
Sort of a disjointed timeline thing. I hope this experiment works.
