This is technically my first proper fanart piece in years, and I am so happy that it was of Mae! I adore this lost, amazing character from Night in the Woods and honestly I adore her! She's such a wonderful character and I truly enjoyed playing the game so much.
I would love if a second game came out, but probably better not to have a second of a good thing, y'know? I think Germ, Bea and Mae are my favourites.
As someone who has had depression on and off since childhood, I connected with Mae easily- I got sucked into the virtual reality of games around pre-adolescence due to IRL trauma and ended up hurting myself and luckily not one else. Bea is just, and extremely interesting character but with a heart wrenching backstory that is too real.
While Germ is simply interesting.
